Salim Bouchakour is a Doctor Engineer in Electrical Engineering, specialized in photovoltaic systems and electrical grid. He obtained his Doctorate of sciences in 2015 from Sidi Bel Abèss University in collaboration with Photovoltaic Energy Division of CDER. He has a “Magister” (eq. M.sc.) degree in Electric Drive Systems in 2005 from National Polytechnic School of Algiers. He also hold an Engineer Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Chlef. He worked as R&D engineer for the National Electricity and Gas Company and for the National Oil & Gas Company, from 2005 to 2011. He is the author or co-author of several research papers.

Since 2018, he has been with the Renewable Electrical Energy Systems research group at the Technical University of Catalonia, Barcelona (Spain) as a R&D researcher.
