Abstract

The design of new solutions for improving the integration of renewable energy systems into the network requires the performance of intensive experimental test, and thus the development of demonstrators able to reproduce realistic grid conditions with an accurate design rates between the systems that should interact in the test.

SEER has a long experience in the developement of new solutions and their test and so its experience is also remarkable regarding the design of demonstrators. In this specific project SEER has assembled for Abengoa a 100kW and a 10kW fully controllable two-level three-phase power converters, a programmable load in the range of 30kW and a 50kW DC-DC converter for controlling a super-capacitor bank of 15.75 Farads and 500 Volts.

Grid emulator in the range of 250kVA able to control the output voltage and frequency following different patterns of governors and exciters have been designed, constructed and programmed for the electrical labs of Abengoa
