Abstract

The purpose of this project is to develop new technical solutions applicable to the generation of electrical energy by wind turbines (WT) and photovoltaic (PV) permitting the massive penetration of these renewable energy sources (RES) in the electrical system.

From a detailed analysis of the dynamic interaction between the energy generator, the power converter and the mains, this project will propose solutions to meeting the latest international grid connection codes and provide useful guidelines and recommendations to design future grid connection codes.

Likewise, the project will investigate new control strategies that enable these distributed power generators to work both in grid connected and intentionally grid disconnected modes, setting targets to ensure continuity of electricity supply.

The project is mainly focused on working with power converters connected to the network, but also consider aspects related to energy storage at high power levels and decentralized control of power networks.
